RAYMOND, MS - County-owned land in Raymond has been touted by some Hinds County officials as the most ideal place to put a proposed regional jail that promises to ease chronic crowding. The acreage for the proposed 450-bed facility is located next to the Hinds County Penal Farm and Detention Center and would cut down on inmate transportation costs and allow sharing of some personnel, District 2 Supervisor Doug Anderson said.Read more.
