HELENA, MT Members of a joint conference committee favored a proposal to toughen penalties for convicted sexual predators in Montana, but acknowledged more work still needs to be done. "A good compromise is when no one's happy," said Sen. Jesse Laslovich, D-Anaconda, who chaired the committee. "I'm not totally comfortable with the bill. I recognize it's the start." Read more.
