| State to review fees for inmate phone use |

WICHITA, KS - Between 7 and 8 p.m. nearly every Wednesday for about 43 months, Jeff Sypher would call his parents from prison. On Thursday nights, he would ring his wife, Tracy. "I just called once a week because the calls are so expensive," said Sypher, who has been out since April 17. "I really shouldn't even have called that much. A lot of guys in there, they don't have that luxury." The Kansas Department of Corrections is looking to cut the cost of inmate calls when it re-examines its telephone contract later this year.
