LOUISVILLE, KY - Metro Corrections officials hope to expand substance abuse treatment for jail inmates with help from some additions in Mayor Jerry Abramson’s proposed budget for next year. Tom Campbell, Metro Corrections director, said he plans to hire a substance abuse counselor, using about $40,000 that will be added to the budget under Abramson’s proposal. Overall, Abramson is requesting $47.6 million for the Corrections budget, an increase of 9.8 percent from this year. Read more.
