COLUMBIA, SC - The security chief for the state prison system has resigned amid an investigation into allegations agency employees used work computers to share pornography. Corrections Department spokesman Josh Gelinas would not say why Michael Sheedy, 59, submitted his resignation, effective June 1. Sheedy's resignation comes a week after two prison managers were suspended without pay for using their state-issued computers to send e-mails containing nude images of women. Prisons director Jon Ozmint named a 33-year agency veteran, Colie Rushton, as an interim replacement. |
