NEW ZEALAND - Prison unit managers are being recommend to pull the pin on strike action over a claimed $4500 pay cut. The managers had planned to take the action from June 7, refusing overtime, on-call work outside normal hours, and taking work-related phone calls outside work. At the heart of the dispute is a $4500 "muster allowance", which was paid to compensate the managers for prison numbers being increased past previously agreed levels. Read more.
