LEBANON, OH - A rookie [CO] at the Lebanon Correctional Institute is hospitalized in fair condition Tuesday after being attacked by an inmate Monday, authorities said. Jared White, 23, a corrections officer for three weeks, was flown on Monday morning to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. White was assaulted by inmate Jerome Brown, 22, in prison since October 2002, said Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Tracy Callahan. Read more.
