SUGAR LAND, TX - Language inserted into a bill awaiting Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s signature could be the first step toward selling the Central Prison Farm, possibly to the City of Sugar Land. City officials said in March they felt optimistic that they were making progress toward one of their major legislative goals – to buy the land now being used as the Central Unit of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
