| Inmate escapes from Coalinga prison |

COALINGA, CA – Authorities were searching for an inmate who escaped from the Claremont Custody Center. Joel Salgado left the prison around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to a statement from the facility. The prison is surrounded by a security fence. Officers were investigating how Salgado managed to escape. Salgado, of Escondido, was incarcerated in July 2006 for vehicle theft and grand theft. He has brown hair and brown eyes and weighs about 160 pounds, according to authorities. He also was wearing a necklace with an eagle pendant. |
