PURDY, WA - A woman who escaped from the Washington Corrections Center for Women in Purdy has been caught, according to a Department of Corrections spokesman. Shannon Becerra-Garcia was arrested Wednesday at a Lakewood home by agents with the Department of Corrections and the U.S. Marshal's Service. A minimum-custody offender serving a sentence for drug possession, Becerra-Garcia escaped while working with a maintenance crew just outside the prison's perimeter, corrections officials said. The escape was reported June 1. She had been scheduled for release in July. |
