AUSTRALIA - Tasmania's Risdon Prison has reopened following a bomb scare this afternoon which sparked a police alert and ended in a lockdown. The jail near Hobart was closed and visitors were banned from entering and asked to move their vehicles from a nearby car park. Police and ambulance crews attended the scene. It is understood a bomb threat was made in the visitor's reception area. "A security operation took place which did not find any risk to staff or the public and the prison has now resumed normal operations," Tasmania's director of prisons Graeme Barber said. |
