| State parole board has new chairman |

MONTGOMERY, AL - Gov. Bob Riley has appointed Bill Wynne Jr. to serve as chairman of the Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles. Wynne's appointment is effective July 1. He will replace Sydney Williams, whose term expires June 30. Riley announced the appointment Wednesday. "He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of the corrections system to the chairmanship, and I'm confident that he will serve with honor and distinction," Riley said in a statement. Read more.
