| High court won't hear state Death Row claims |

BIRMINGHAM, AL - The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday declined to hear Death Row inmates' claims that Alabama unconstitutionally denies them legal representation. Civil rights attorneys representing the condemned inmates said the decision means the case is dead, not the issue. "We're disappointed, but this is not over. The court didn't rule against us. It just decided not to review this issue at this time," said Bryan Stevenson, executive director of the Equal Justice Initiative of Alabama. Read more.
