| Teens charged for CO attack |

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — Eight boys, including one from Asbury Park, have been charged as adults in a bloody Easter attack linked to the Bloods street gang against two corrections officers at the Training School for Boys in Monroe. Charged with aggravated assault, conspiracy to commit aggravated assault and riot are: Troy Bethea and Semaj Gilmore, both 17, of Camden; Gerard Harreld, 17, and Ernesto Vanegas, 16, both of Jersey City; Aaron Esdaile, 16, of Asbury Park; Tyrone Larkins, 16, of Newark; Tyshon Singletary, 17, of Paterson; and Laquan Willis, 17, of East Orange. Singletary has also been charged with attempted murder. Two officers suffered injuries in that assault, one requiring 100 stitches to close wounds, including a gash on his forehead. The same officer was stabbed in the eye with a shank, which punctured his eyelid. He also sustained a facial fracture, authorities said. Read more.
