Iraqi officers training in Jordan

MAWAQQAR, JORDAN - "Bomb, bomb," a man shouts, as a group of Iraqis dives for cover. It's all a drill - part of six-week course to train new [officers] who will oversee thousands of prisoners taken into custody in the ongoing Baghdad security crackdown.

About 2,400 [officers] are due to be trained at this $110 million facility that the U.S. built in the desert village of Mawaqqar, 20 miles east of Amman, before the program ends Aug. 24. Read more.
