SKOWHEGAN, ME - Maine State Prison Correctional Officer David C. Allen was named Monday night as the new Somerset County Jail Administrator. One of four finalists for the job, Allen will be in charge of day-to-day operations at the new $30 million jail being constructed on East Madison Road in Madison, according to Philip Roy, chairman of the county commissioners. Allen will be an active participant in bringing the county's correctional program up to date, Roy said during a ceremony at the county courthouse. Read more.
