| Funeral Friday for slain CO |

DRAPER, UTAH - Eleven prison wardens from around the United States and Canada are expected to attend the funeral Friday for slain Corrections Officer Stephen R. Anderson, his family said Wednesday. The services are set to begin 11 a.m. at the Bluffdale LDS Stake Center, 14400 S. 2742 West. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Bluffdale City Cemetery. Visitation also is scheduled on Thursday, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 S. 2200 West, in Riverton. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made in the name of Stephen Anderson at any Zions bank branch. Anderson was killed about 7:45 a.m. Monday at University Hospital, where he had brought Utah State Prison inmate Curtis Michael Allgier for medical treatment. Capital murder charges are expected to be filed this week against Allgier, who has been serving prison time for burglary, forgery and escape convictions in Cache County. |
