Louisiana inmates don't care about Paris Hilton

THIBODAUX, LA — The rest of the nation might find Paris Hilton's jail antics entertaining, judging by the attention they have garnered. The women on F-block at the Lafourche Parish jail, however, are not amused.

Media coverage of the model and socialite's legal travails began with her Sept. 7, 2005, DUI arrest in Hollywood, Calif. The media frenzy reached a crescendo on June 26 with her release from the Los Angeles County jail.

Hilton, heiress to a fortune built by the hotels that bear her last name, had served just over half of a 41-day sentence for violating probation springing from her arrest. Read more.
