SELMA, AL - Alabama will build a $24.5 million academy within three years to train state troopers and prison [officers], replacing an aging facility in Selma that has been in poor condition for decades, the state's top public safety officer said. The state Department of Public Safety is partnering with the Department of Corrections and Wallace Community College to build the facility in Selma.
