West Virginia features profiles

CHARLESTON, WV - Several years behind some other states, the West Virginia Division of Corrections has unveiled a new Web site that helps the public find information on inmates in the state's prison system.

The new site also helps inmates by providing links to community resources intended to make their transition back into society smoother. And crime victims now have an extensive list of resources all in one place.

Jim Rubenstein, corrections commissioner, says the division gave Charleston-based Dream Catcher a $72,600 contract to create the new Web site and upgrade the division's intranet system. Read more.
