| State prison health care case transferred |

LANSING, MI - A federal judge who has overseen a long-running case involving inmate medical care in Jackson prisons has asked that it be transferred to another judge. U.S. District Judge Richard Enslen, 76, no longer will be handling the case. The senior status judge is technically no longer full-time, but has been handling as many cases now as he did before he became a senior judge in September 2005. U.S. District Judge Robert Holmes Bell in Grand Rapids said during a court hearing Wednesday that he or another judge will take over the case. Enslen has handled it at least since 1992. Read more.
