COWLITZ COUNTY, WA - An inmate in the Cowlitz County Jail jumped from the second story of his cell block Sunday afternoon, prompting authorities to consider installing extra safety fencing in the lockup. The incident was characterized as a suicide attempt, but Corrections Director Dan Price said the man had caught the interest of immigration officials and may have been trying to get to the hospital to mount an escape.
