New construction on schedule

CHICAGO, IL - Construction of the new Kane County Jail in St. Charles is nearly half completed, within budget and on pace to open as scheduled a year from now, county officials were told this week.

The $56.4 million, 640-bed adult correctional facility should be substantially completed by July 21, 2008, as planned, said James Roberston, the county's jail consultant. The jail is designed to be expanded to include an additional 128 beds in the future. Read more.
