CHICAGO, IL - Construction of the new Kane County Jail in St. Charles is nearly half completed, within budget and on pace to open as scheduled a year from now, county officials were told this week. The $56.4 million, 640-bed adult correctional facility should be substantially completed by July 21, 2008, as planned, said James Roberston, the county's jail consultant.
