OKLAHOMA CITY, OK - State corrections officials say a performance audit of state prisons will likely show what they have known all along -- that the agency is underfunded. Lawmakers say the independent audit is the only way to cut through the politics of prison funding. The audit is being performed by Florida-based MGT America. The company is getting paid $844,000 for its work. The company employs former corrections leaders to conduct the audits and has reviewed corrections departments in states such as Illinois and Florida. Read more.
