| Union debating arbitration |

NEW YORK, NY - Although Nassau's corrections officers union has lobbied for more than a year for binding arbitration, its leaders have yet to decide whether to accept the county's one-time offer to allow an arbitration panel to resolve the union's stalled contract negotiations. Labor Relations Director Dan McRay on July 24 wrote the union to confirm that the county is offering the same panel of arbitrators that decided the recent police contract to the Sheriff's Officers Association, which has been without a contract since January, 2005.
