DAKOTA CITY, IA - Dakota County Jail administrator and Chief Deputy Rod Herron walked off the job Tuesday when he learned the Dakota County Board of Commissioners had voted to create a board of corrections. That puts the commissioners in charge of the county jail starting Sept. 1, but temporarily leaves the jail without an administrator to oversee day-to-day operations. Read more.
