| New UK prison likely |

UNITED KINGDOM - Justice Minister Jack Straw is expected to confirm today that a case has been made for opening a new prison in North Wales. Mr Straw will be responding to a Welsh Affairs Committee report, which outlined the case for more prison capacity in Wales. Earlier this week Lord Elis- Thomas, the Assembly’s Presiding Officer, made his own call for a new prison in North Wales in a speech at the Eisteddfod. Read more.
