MARYLAND - A man who was mistakenly released after being charged with sexually assaulting a 9-year-old girl surrendered yesterday to authorities in Prince George's County. An attorney for John Henri Palmont Jr., 27, said yesterday that his client, who allegedly jumped from a second-floor window to avoid capture during his initial arrest Thursday, had no idea anything was amiss when a corrections officer released him Friday from the hospital where he was being treated for fractures and other injuries.
