| Ireland's prison officers 'feel unsafe' at work |

IRELAND - More than eight out of 10 prison officers are unhappy with their physical safety at work. A new report revealed that 85.9% believe the Irish Prison Service provides them with insufficient support to ensure their safety at work. Meanwhile, 65% feel unsafe when interacting with inmates. The survey, commissioned by the Prison Officers Association (POA), also found almost 43% of members encountered physically challenging behaviour on a weekly or daily basis in the last year.
