AUSTIN, TX - State health authorities met with local elected leaders Monday night to provide them with an update on an investigation into the deaths of two former inmates at the county jail. The meeting came on the eve of the arrival of a team of federal health investigators from the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta, Ga., who will join with state health authorities in an attempt to learn the cause of the two deaths.
