| New parole standards being imposed |

HARTFORD, CT - State parole board members are examining records of thousands of inmates currently eligible for parole to see whether any police reports, sentencing transcripts and background investigations raise red flags. The stepped-up review comes in the wake of the July 23 murders of a Cheshire mother and her two daughters. The two suspects in the killings were parolees _ one of whom was granted parole even though the board did not have all of the information about his upbringing, sentencing and mental health history.
