| Study on women's facility urged |

SAN DIEGO, CA – Santee city officials have been upset for months over a Sheriff's Department plan to build a larger Las Colinas women's jail in the center of town. Now they have the ear – if not the full support – of county Supervisor Dianne Jacob. Jacob remains neutral on the plan, which calls for replacing the 1960s-era jail with a 1,216-bed facility on 45 acres in Santee. Read more.
