Some Wayne County (Mich.) Sheriff's deputies may have abused their power to arrange sex parties with female inmates. Local 4 learned the Wayne County Sheriff's department is close to announcing findings of an investigation into alleged sex parties, which took place off prison property and while the then-accused deputies were not on duty. Although none of the activity took place inside the Wayne County Jail in Hamtramck, the parties may have been planned during female inmates' incarceration at the jail. The alleged sex parties may have been videotaped. As many as 10 Wayne County Sheriff's deputies are accused of arranging the sex parties with female inmates, just as they were being released from prison. The investigation has reportedly been going on for weeks. The department may be considering suspension and criminal charges if the allegations are discovered to be true, Local 4 reported. Meanwhile, since the alleged sex parties took place off property after hours and while the deputies were off duty, the activity may not be illegal. Sources say the female inmates may have been enticed by money, which could at the very least could involve solicitation charges. Local 4 learned that the question of the sex parties was raised after information was obtained from a confidential informant. A Wayne County Sheriff's lieutenant at the jail referred Local 4's questions to the department's main administration office. A spokesman did confirm the allegations to Local 4 and said the investigation is in its final stages. The spokesman also said there had been no disciplinary action taken against any deputy. |
