Two inmates who escaped from a work release site last week were caught two days later in nearby Boonville, the Boonville Correctional Center said. Convicted robbers Kurt Henderson and Jessy Salamone walked away around noon Thursday from a work release site about eight miles north of Boonville, in Howard County. Late Saturday night, an employee at the Isle of Capri Casino in Boonville spotted two people walking along the railroad tracks, and a state trooper providing security for the casino pursued them on foot and caught the pair. The Boonville Police Department also helped with the capture and brought the inmates back to the Boonville Correctional Center. Both men had been in state custody since August, serving five-year sentences for second-degree robbery from Saline County. |
