MISSOURI - The Randolph County Juvenile Department has made the Jennings Building home for about 15 years. But in an effort to help the county save money, the offices will move across the street to the Moberly Courthouse in early October. The juvenile department pays over $28,000 each year in rent, reports the Randolph County Commission. The county is working with a deficit budget and continues to look for ways to reduce unnecessary expenditures. The commission has researched moving the juvenile office into other county-owned buildings, such as the health department, but Tena Houston, Chief Juvenile Officer, said, while there might be more room at the health department building, when it comes to security, the courthouse is the safer choice.
