| Minister in firing line over rugby tour |

NEW ZEALAND - The Minister of Corrections, Damian O'Connor, is facing heavy criticism over his decision to go on a parliamentary rugby tour to France with a suspended Corrections officer in the team. Mr O'Connor is on his way back to New Zealand. He has said that in hindsight, his decision to go on the trip with suspended officer Jim Morgan might have been led to a possible perceived conflict of interest. Mr Morgan's wife works in Mr O'Connor's office. Mr O'Connor could lose his Corrections portfolio over the matter. Prime Minister Helen Clark told Morning Report on Monday that Mr O'Connor should not have gone on the tour, and believes it shows poor judgment. Read more.
