| Community corrections to address failings |

INDIANA - Marion County Community Corrections has started a top-to-bottom review of the agency in response to criticism it has lost track of its core mission. Work release is one of several programs used as alternatives to prison or jail time. But a new independent report says Community Corrections experienced "mission creep" in the past decade as it opened some programs to defendants awaiting trial to ease crowding in the Marion County Jail.
