| Senator wants more detail in juvenile report |

SOUTH DAKOTA - When state officials file reports on serious complaints by juveniles in South Dakota's corrections programs, they should include enough details to give the public an idea of what is happening in those programs, a state senator said Monday. The reports submitted twice a year by the juvenile corrections monitor should include a brief description of each serious allegation, said Sen. Jason Gant, R-Sioux Falls. Without such descriptions, the public might mistakenly believe all serious complaints involve allegations of serious staff misconduct, he said. Read more.
