PENNSYLVANIA - A second man filed a federal lawsuit alleging poor conditions and medical care contributed to a staphylococcus infection he contracted during his stay at Northampton County Prison. The county, medical contractor PrimeCare Medical Inc. and several individuals are named in the suit filed Sept. 7 by Kendall L. Kinchen, who spent Sept. 8, 2005, to April 26, 2006, in prison in Easton. Kinchen claims the defendants failed to protect him from becoming infected with methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus even though they knew or should have known he was at risk. Read more.
