| Sheriff sued over jail tax issue |

OHIO - A lawsuit filed against Hamilton County Sheriff Simon Leis claims the sheriff broke the law when county resources were used to campaign for the passage of a sales tax to build a new jail. The lawsuit, filed Thursday in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court by Hyde Park resident Brian Shrive, asks the court to order Leis not to use county money or resources to advocate for the passage of Issue 27, known as the "Comprehensive Safety Plan."
