Jail suicides rise in the UK

UNITED KINGDOM - Prison suicides have risen by 50 per cent this year, according to a new body dedicated to cutting the numbers of people who die behind bars.

Some of the deaths were probably preventable, says the Forum for Preventing Deaths in Custody, which today produced a total of all fatalities in custody in England and Wales for the first time. Read more.
