CONNECTICUT - Gov. M. Jodi Rell yesterday said she would prefer the General Assembly wait to enact criminal justice reforms until her task force has concluded its review of this summer's triple murder in Cheshire. "I would like for us to have the recommendations," the Republican governor said. "That's why we've put the professionals in place." Rell made the comments during a meeting yesterday with The Advocate and Greenwich Time's editorial board, where she also discussed banning parole for violent offenders, children's health insurance and the stalemate over the state bond package. words you want linked |
