CANADA - The provincial government is spending $4.1 million to build a 90-bed addition to the Saskatoon Correctional Centre. Construction of the new building is set to begin by the end of November and finish the summer of 2008. The plan will make more room in the jail's current facility, where men have been sleeping on mats in the gym, a classroom and part of the medical unit for more than a year. Read more.
