Laws bar frivolous jail claims

AUSTRALIA - New laws will stop prisoners in Queensland from making anti-discrimination claims about frivolous and vexatious matters such as not being fed potatoes, being prevented from watching videos and having to work on Sundays.

Premier Anna Bligh said the laws would also freeze prisoners' compensation payments, giving the victims of their crimes a chance to make an opposing claim for the money. Read more.
