NEW YORK - The Tompkins County Legislature's Expanded Budget Committee began preliminary, non-binding votes on over-target requests for departments and agencies Tuesday night, supporting requests from the Sheriff's Office, the Health Department and a measure that would increase funding for jail overcrowding. Committee Chairman Mike Koplinka-Loehr, D-Town of Ithaca, began the meeting by letting legislator's know that each vote made could be revisited at a later date and undone. Read more.
