MICHIGAN - Efforts are continuing to keep the state prison in Manistique open even though the final 40 inmates have been transferred from the facility. The Michigan Department of Corrections, acting on its July announcement that 264-bed Camp Manistique would be shut down, made the final prison transfer Wednesday. Read more.
