| San Quentin death row delay is vetoed |

CALIFORNIA - Assemblyman Jared Huffman's attempt to delay long-planned construction of a new death row at San Quentin State Prison was vetoed late Sunday night by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. Huffman, a San Rafael Democrat, said Monday that the Legislature is still moving forward with its study into possible alternatives to the state's plan to build a $337 million maximum-security complex at the west end of the 432-acre prison.
