TEXAS - Amid reports that poor conditions are still rampant at state-run youth prisons, several employees from the Texas Youth Commission updated state lawmakers Wednesday about restaffing and facility improvements. The commission, which houses about 3,300 kids at its juvenile detention centers, has been under scrutiny since reports earlier this year described violence, sexual abuse and filthiness at the facilities.
