| First major release since parole ban planned |

CONNECTICUT - The state parole board hopes to approve the release of about 40 nonviolent inmates this week, the first major discharge since a crackdown after a July triple murder, officials said. The board also hopes to resume reviews for inmates seeking parole, said Robert Farr, the board chairman. The inmates set for release could return to their communities tomorrow or early next week if they have housing and other resources ready, Farr said. Read more.
