TENNESSEE - Shelby County Sheriff's Office corrections deputy Daniel Thorpe died Monday, October 22, while on duty at Jail East, the women's facility of the Shelby County Jail. Thorpe, 44, worked the 10:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m. shift at the jail. Officials say he collapsed just after 6:00 a.m. as he walked down a hallway of the facility. Read more.
